As Eli and I were approaching thoughts of retirement over the past few years, we knew that travel would be a big part of our plan, specifically starting our adventure with an international travel focus. In June of 2019, we kicked it off with a month long trip to Italy where we explored Tuscany, visited Florence, Rome and many, many other small villages and towns. The highlight of our time was researching and exploring the towns where my grandparents immigrated from – Santopadre and Colle San Magno to better understand why and how they felt immigrating to America was their future. It was a special trip; one we will treasure forever.
Fast forward to early 2020 where all things in the world changed. Life and travel for at least the next year or so will be markedly different until the pandemic is better controlled. With this came a change in plan and mindset and while traveling the USA was always a goal, we decided to move forward with switching our plans domestically and searching for a small RV that would allow us flexibility to see all of the national parks as well as other areas of beauty, interest and history that our country holds.
